Yuval Cinnamon

Yuval Cinnamon, Agricultural Research Organization - The Volcani Institute, CSO- Poultry by Huminn
Embryologist by training, Dr. Cinnamon began his academic career while completing his MSc and PhD studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He subsequently undertook two post-doctorate fellowships at the Hebrew University and the National Institute for Medical Research in London, UK. Upon returning to Israel, Yuval joined the Hadassah Medical Center to manage the genetic research lab, where he focused on rare diseases in humans. With a diverse skill set including bioinformatics, biochemistry, molecular biology, embryology, cell biology, microsurgery, imaging, genetics, genomics, and whole animal biology, he became a PI at the Agricultural Research Organization - the Volcani Center.
Dr. Cinnamon's research focuses on embryology using the chicken as a model organism. His lab investigates questions on early embryogenesis and developed a platform to create genomic transformations in chickens. All of the projects aim to enhance food security, health, global sustainability, and animal welfare through the use of cutting-edge technologies.
Additionally, Cinnamon is the founder and CSO of Poultry by Huminn (https://www.nrspoultry.com/), where he leads efforts to improve poultry production sustainability and animal welfare.
